12. Black Mirror
After a four-year break, the ominous, playful Black Mirror returns for its sixth season, arriving at a time when fears about know-how and synthetic intelligence are more likely to make the anthology collection’ dystopian tales extra topical than ever. Netflix has introduced the titles and stars of this season’s 5 episodes, which embody Joan is Terrible, a meta-tale about an extraordinary lady astonished to see that her life has been tailored right into a streaming collection, and that she is portrayed by Salma Hayek Pinault. Aaron Paul’s character lands in an alternate 1969 in Past the Sea. And Zazie Beetz stars in Mazey Day as a troubled movie star hounded by the paparazzi. The hole between seasons was partly attributable to rights points, and maybe as a result of, as collection creator Charlie Brooker mentioned in 2020, in the course of the worst of the pandemic, “I do not know what abdomen there would for tales about societies falling aside”. It might be true to the darkish spirit of Black Mirror if he has lastly assumed the worst and given up ready for issues to get higher.
Black Mirror premieres in June on Netflix internationally
